This Weekend at Spivey Hall – Atlanta Chamber Players and Spring Bach Festival

The Atlanta Chamber Players and the continuation of the Spring Bach Festival will be making music at Clayton State University’s world-famous Spivey Hall this weekend.

On Saturday, Apr. 25, the Atlanta Chamber Players, Paula Peace, artistic director, will be celebrating their 33rd season with an 8:15 p.m. performance, "Tour De Force," in the Hall. The Atlanta Chamber Players (ACP) has earned a well-deserved national reputation as a pioneer among chamber groups and is widely respected among arts organizations in the Southeast.

Over the past three decades, the ACP has performed critically acclaimed concerts in more than 200 cities throughout the United States and Europe, and to millions worldwide through live international radio broadcasts, with rave reviews.

Tickets to this performance are $25 (50 percent off for Clayton State faculty and staff); Clayton State students pay just $10. The Spivey Hall 2009 Spring Bach Festival will continue on Sunday, Apr. 26, at 3 p.m. with the Spivey Hall debut of flutist Emmanuel Pahud, harpsichordist Trevor Pinnock, and cellist Jonathan Manson, performing four of Bach's Sonatas for Flute and Continuo. Rounding out the program, each musician will also perform a solo work: Telemann's Fantaisie in D major for flute, Purcell's Suite in A minor for harpsichord, and a cello suite by Bach. Also included will be a Pre-Concert Talk at 2 p.m.
