About Dierks Bentley - Performing in Atlanta, GA (Tuesday, August 18)

Dierks Bentley’s kind of country has never been straight-up-the-middle. Instead, the Arizona-native grew up on a potent hybrid of honky-tonk, bluegrass, classic country and modern rock & roll, forging his own sound along the way. A winner of the prestigious CMA Horizon Award, Bentley sold almost 5 million copies of his previous three studio albums, which included 10 top-10 singles and seven number 1 hits. His latest album, Feel That Fire, features a 12-song serving of rockers and ballads with a dash of honky tonk and bluegrass, and has the pulsing energy, passion and dynamic sensibility of his praised live show. For Bentley, Feel That Fire, whose first two singles have already reached the #1 spot on the charts, is about the passion of the moment - it’s about moving forward, but remembering where you came from. Other artists on the tour (in case you want to travel a bit... Nashville isn't that far):

Darius Rucker - Performing in Nashville, TN (Monday, August 24) http://samsungsummerkrush.com/
Capitol Records Nashville artist Darius Rucker’s first country album, Learn To Live, debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts, following a multi-week #1 debut country single, “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It.” His second single, “It Won’t Be Like This For Long” also landed atop all three country singles charts. A huge achievement by anyone’s measure! Released to critical and commercial success, Rucker’s Learn To Live is a project steeped in the country traditions of meaningful lyrics and resonant melodies, yet is still an album that sounds completely modern. It takes the listener on a voyage through life’s experiences dealing with major themes such as falling in love, birth and death, and features guest appearances by Brad Paisley, Vince Gill and Alison Krauss. New to the country scene, Rucker made the transition from rock to country quite simply when millions of fans that knew Rucker as the voice of Hootie & The Blowfish, the Grammy-winning group whose album Cracked Rear View sold more than 16 million copies, happily followed the singer/songwriter in his natural evolution to country music. These days, the singer/songwriter is grateful that the genre has embraced him wholeheartedly, is devoted to his solo career and to promoting his current album, watching earnestly as his third single, “Alright” is Top 5 on the country singles charts and climbing! Maxwell - Performing in Boston, MA (Wednesday, September 2)
http://samsungsummerkrush.com/
After an extended hiatus, Maxwell, the sexy ambassador of soul has returned with a brand new look and a fresh yet deliciously vintage sound. The same artist who brought us classic songs like “Sumthin’ Sumthin’,” “Ascension (Don’t Ever Wonder)” and “Lifetime” (not to mention the unforgettably ethereal cover of Kate Bush’s “This Woman’s Work”) is back with a challenging, mature, sensual, courageous and emotionally open album entitled, BLACKsummers’night (Columbia). His fourth studio album and first in eight years, BLACKsummers’night is the sound of an artist taking the commitment to his craft and the conversation with his audience that much further. Needless to say, it is a conversation that’s been overdue; but as the soft-spoken, multi-platinum artist sees it, in order to come back it was necessary to step away. The album is the first installment of a trilogy entitled BLACKSUMMERS’NIGHT. BLACK is a much darker but soulful compilation, SUMMERS’ leans more toward the gospel side and NIGHT is more a cool collection of slow jams. Composed of nine indelible songs BLACKsummers’night finds Maxwell exploring life with a bold and purposeful sensuality unmistakably his own, and ready to give old fans and new ones a sensory experience that he never fails to bring.
