Army Ground Forces Band Ensemble to Play a Free Dixieland Concert at Spivey Hall

The Old Flint River Dixieland Band, and ensemble of the Army Ground Forces Band, will give a free concert in Clayton State University’s Spivey Hall this coming Tuesday, Feb. 10, at 11:15 a.m.

Although this is a free concert, individuals will still need to make reservations. If you’d like to attend, please email DeborahTeske@clayton.edu or call (678) 466-4491.

The band performs traditional New Orleans Dixieland music that has survived and flourished for more than a century. Brass, wind, and rhythm instruments will bring a taste of that New Orleans style to Spivey Hall in a free, educational concert.

This concert is part of Spivey Hall’s Young People’s Concerts, which offer affordable music field trips to students and senior citizens from throughout metro-Atlanta.

A unit of the University System of Georgia, Clayton State University is an outstanding comprehensive metropolitan university located 15 miles southeast of downtown Atlanta.
